Card Annex - Happy Birthday

Hi everyone!  I hope you guys all had a great weekend.  We are having some amazing weather here right now so we spent a lot of time outside.  

I recently joined the Card Annex Design team.  This site is fantastic....if you love making cards you really need to check it out.  There are new cards posted daily in a variety of styles.   

Today I am sharing a "Happy Birthday" card that was on the Card Annex blog a few weeks ago. 

I used the October Afternoon - Cakewalk Collection for my card.  This has to be one of my all time favorite collections.  I love the soft colors.

I cut this cute cupcake from Lori Whitlock  with my Silhouette Cameo.  I embossed the icing portion with the Cuttlebug D'vine Swirls folder and the wrapper with the Diamonds folder from Sizzix.
To apply the glitter to the heart, I run the base layer of the cupcake through the Xyron, apply the layers, and the sprinkle course glitter.   This really cuts down on the mess.
I stamped the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the Scrappy Moms set - Mini Messages on a tab from this set from Lori Whitlock.
