As soon as I saw these beautiful ornate cards, I knew right away that I wanted to make one.  There are several to choose from for both Halloween and Autumn themed projects. I decided on the ornate leaf card (SVG, Silhouette). I trimmed the front panel off the card and used a gold cardstock for my card base and then added few elements from Lori's Celebrate Autumn Collection from Echo Park to finish off my pretty card.

Everyone loves shaped cards!  This little gingerbread house is easy to assemble and would be easy to make multiples.  

For my other two cards, I used one card base and changed the element in the circle.  You could do an ornament, a snowflake, etc. do add some variety to your cards. 

I used this poinsettia file and you can find the card base here. 

I used this wreath for this card and replaced the bow with some twine.

April Fool's Day Blog Hop!

We were asked to create a fun project in honor of April Fool's Day.  For some reason, I had a hard time deciding what to do....so I have two cards to show you.

For this card, I used Smiley Cards for the base and Create a Critter for the cow. 

I was trying to come up with something really funny....and then I saw this cake on Smiley Cards.  He looks like I feel as I quickly approach the big "4-0"  The sentiment is from the Scrappy Moms set - Kids, Inc.  It has an exclamation point at the end but I removed the ink from that and added in a "?" with a marker.   I think it turned out really cute. I put the cake on a wobble...this is the first time I've used one.  They are so fun!  This candle paper is from K and Company.

Flaunt It Fridays #15 - Birthday Bash Blog Hop

This week we are using the bunny with present from Birthday Bash.  This has become one of my favorite cartridges....especially when using my Peachy Keen stamps....some of the face layers are so tiny!

I cut the card base from Birthday Bash at 5.22h and the bunny is cut at 3.25.  The sentiment is from the Scrappy Moms Stamps - Furry Friends set.

For my second project, I cut the banner from Birthday Bash at 5.16" and the letters

from Country Life at 2.75"

 

The presents are also from Birthday Bash at 2.75".  I had a hard time getting good pictures of this banner but it turned out really cute!

Flaunt It Fridays - Paper Doll Dress Up Blog Hop

Raggedy Ann and / or Raggedy Andy cut on page 36 and 37. 

I decided to do a Valentine's Day theme for my project.  I altered a composition notebook.  I stocked up on these during the back to school sales when they were only .25. 

I cut the paper dolls at 3.75 inches. The heart and striped paper are K and Company - Ka-Zoo and the polka dot paper is from DCWV - All Dressed Up.   I used my new PK Princess faces for the little girl and the little boy's face is from my PK Critter Faces.

For my second project, we were asked to use any cut from the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge.  I decided to make a banner.  I used the shamrock from page 40. I love making these...they go together quickly and are so pretty!

I cut the panels from Lacy Labels....the kraft layer is cut at 5.15" and the pattern paper layer is cut at 4.75".  The letters are from Country Life at 3.80" and the shamrocks are cut at 3.45".

Erika asked us to make a project based on a Beatles song....I searched through ITunes and found out that the Beatles have a song called "Rocky Raccoon" so that is the inspiration for my card.

 I cut my card base at 5-1/4" x 5-1/4".  This adorable little raccoon is from Create a Critter, I cut it at 3"h.  I am in love with this cute label shape from Twinkle Toes.  I used pattern papers from the DCWV All Dressed Up stack.  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps.

KinderStampO's 34 Birthday Balloons and Counting Blog Hop

I have two projects to show you.

For this super simple birthday invitation, I cut the scallop rectangle from the Cricut Lite Sugar and Spice cartridge at 5.25 w.  I wanted the invite to fit in a standard A2 envelope.   I used Microsoft Publisher to print the info, trimmed the cardstock to fit and used my corner rounder to shape the corners.  I cut the two ladybugs from Walk in my Garden at 1". The pink organdy ribbon came from the JoAnn's bargain bin.

I saw the idea for this treat box over at Chic'n Stratch .  She makes a box like this using a Big Shot die. 

I don't have a Big Shotso I created a similiar box on my Cricut.  I don't want this post to get too long....so I will share a tutorial on how to make this little box along with my Gypsy file on the post below.

Flaunt It Friday's - Hello Kitty Blog Hop

For my project I made a wall plaque/sign for my daughters' room.   

Hello Kitty and her airplane are cut at 4".   The shaped plaque is from Lacy Labels and I cut it at 8.5"h  The "Soar" message is from Straight From the Nest at 2"h.

For my second project, we got to choose any cut from the Hello Kitty Greetings  and I chose the cupcake image from page 41.

I found some cute pastel colored notepads at the dollar store 3 for $1 so I made a cover/pencil holder. (If anyone is interested in the details for this just let me know and I will post them in a separately)  .  The background paper is by Heidi Grace.  I cut a white scallop strip form Just Because Cards and the stamp is from Papertrey Ink.

New Year's Thank You Card Blog Hop!

I have two cards to show you today!

I welded two scallopped rectagles from Sugar and Spice to create my card base.  The banner and font are from Birhday Bash.  The banner is cut at .85" and the font and .40".  I was so impressed with how well this font cut at such a small size.....I think it helps that the letters are pretty bold.  The little bird is from Create a Critter and is cut at 1.8"h.  I finished my card of with a Prima flower and some chip board hearts from my Stash. 

My second card is also made using Birthday Bash....I'm really starting to love this cartridge.

I cut this happy little elephant at 3" and used my Scrappy Moms Stamps Amusing Aminals set for the sentiment.  I cut the shape at the sentiment is stamped on from Lacy Labels and adhere it behind my polka dot mat so only the edge is showing.  It is embossed with the Swiss Dot folder.

For my birthday card I used Birthday Bash to cut this adorable balloon toting birdie.  I'm loving this cartridge...a must have if you make a lot of birthday projects.  I used my Peachy Keen Critter Faces to stamp the bird's face. I have had my PK stamps for a while now and just haven't used them enough. I'm definitely going to be using them a lot more....I love the way this bird turned out!
