Cricut Cardz Challenge #72

It's time for another Cricut Cardz Challenge.  This week the challenge is to make a Mother's Day using the card feature from any cartridge and include a flower on your card.
I decided to use my Wild Card cartridge for the card feature.  It's funny....I wanted this cartridge for a long time but now that I have it I hardly ever use it.

Card Base - Wild Card at 5.25"
Hummingbird - Pagoda at 2.2.5"
stamped with Vintage Wallpaper BG stamp from Market Street Stamps and then Smooch Spritzed
Label - Lacy Labels at 1"h x 2"w
Sentiment - Scrappy Moms Stamps - All in the Family
Ribbon - Stash
Pattern Paper - My Mind's Eye
For my flower, I gathered a piece of vintage seem binding that I purchased from ETSY with a running stitch and then hot glued it down to a 1" circle.  I added the brad in the center.  It's not perfect but I guess it looks okay!

We can't wait to see what you come up with for this week's challenge....click here to head on over to Cricut Card Challenge.

Scrappy Moms Stamps - Terrific Tuesday Challenge

Hi everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!  We went to visit my sister in law and had a great time.
It's time for another Scrappy Moms Stamps - Terrific Tuesday challenge.  This week we are using the Paisley cartridge.  This was the first cart I purchased after I got my baby bug.  I thought it was the best cartridge ever but now I never use it! It has some really cute cuts....I should use it more often.
I cut the frog at 3" and the mat behind him at 3-1/8 x 3-3/8.  I used my corner round on the corners of the white mat.  This background paper is from K and Company - Carolyn Gavin, Greenhouse mat stack.  My pink card base is 5" x 5" and the pattern paper is 4-3/4 x 4-3/4".  I liked this pretty flower border so I tried to work around it.  I think it turned out pretty cute.  We can't wait to see what you do with the Paisley cartridge....click here to see the rest of the design team projects.

Cristina's Blogaversy Blog Hop

I was so excited to be invited to help her celebrate the one year anniversary of her blog.
If you arrived here  from Christna's blog then you are on the right track.  If you just stopped by for a visit, click here to start at the beginning.
It only took me a few minutes of browsing through her beautiful gallery to find some ideas for my "Cristina Inspired" project.
I cut this pretty scallop oval from the Twinkle Toes and the little doll is from Paisley.   I used the hide coutours feature to hide her face so I cute use my Peachy Keen princess faces.  The floral background paper is from K and Company.   The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps.
I just love this card....it turned out so cute!  It's probably one of my favorites.

I have some BLOG CANDY!!!!

Flaunt It Fridays - Cindy Loo

Happy Friday everyone!  It's time for another Flaunt it Fridays challenge.  This week it is anything goes from the Cindy Loo cartridge.  If you don't have this one you can use a similar cut from another cartridge.
For my project, I made a skinny notepad cover.  I purchased some of the  notepads from Papertrey Ink a few months ago.  I cut my paisley from Straight from the Nest at 2.25".    I used a punch for the scallop circle and the stamp is also from Papertrey Ink.  The stamp set is called "Take Note" and has some cute titles made specifically for notepads...Grocery List, Things to Do, Books to Read etc.  I plan on making some of these for the twins to give to their librarian, computer teacher, and principal at the end of the school year.

We can't wait to see what you guys come up with using the Cindy Loo cartridge.....click here to head on over to Flaunt It Fridays!

Butteflies and Blogs Blog Hop!

Happy Birthday, Laura!
Welcome to the Butterflies & Blogs Blog Hop hosted by Laura at Makin Pretty Things!
I so excited to participate in this hop....Laura has put together an amazing lineup of talented designers.
You should have arrived from Pam's blog , if you just stopped by to visit click here to start at the beginning.

As you can probably guess by the name of the hop, we all have butterflies in our projects.  This is great for me because I love butterflies.
For my card, I used Birthday Bash for the card base.  I cut the base at 5.25"h.  The flower is from Walk in My Garden at 2.5 and the butterfly is from Straight from the Nest at 2.65.  The grid background paper and the glitter paper on the butterfly are both from DCWV.
The sentiment is from the Scrappy Moms set - All in the Family.  I love this butterfly....so pretty!

I  made a little gift bag from coordinating DCWV paper.

I cut the bag from Once Upon a Princess.  I rotated it to the diagonal on my mat so I could cut it as large as possible....sorry, I forgot to write this down.   I cut the flower at 2.25 and the butterfly at 2.5.

I guess this gift bag would be for a tiny gift....maybe jewelry....or a gift card to your favorite craft store.
I have some BLOG CANDY!!!
Please make sure you're a follower and leave me a comment on this post for a chance to win a $10 gift card to either Michael's or Joann.

Tuesday Trigger: Porch Play

Hi guys!  I hope you are having a great weekend.  I spent the day at the park with my kids today...we are having some beautiful weather here in Texas.
I wanted to share a project that I made today for the Moxie Fab World, Tuesday Trigger.

Aren't these colors fabulous?!  My two favorites....red and turquoise.  Here's what I came up with...

I used my new Vintage Wallpaper background stamp from Market Street Stamps to stamp the yellow background.  I'm trying to branch out and learn some new techniques so I'm not using my Cricut for everything!  I cut the shaped mat from Lacy Labels and the butterfly from MS Elegant Cake Art.
The sentiment is from the Scrappy Moms set - All in the Family.

I've had this card in my mind for a few days and tried all kinds of variations on the color scheme.  I'm not sure if this works or not but I like it more each time I look at it

Scrappin Good Time (Retreat stay, MUST complete hop and challenge)
There will be a challenge at the end of the hop, you will need to hop along ALL blogs and "look" for challenge clues they will not be on each blog. Then link your complete challenge project by due date to Mr. Linky on http://ascrapabove.blogspot.com//, this is the "final" step to be in the drawing for the Scrapbook retreat stay (info on Bonnie's Blog)

There are 13 clues randomly placed on 13 blogs, as you find these, write them down, they will help you with the CHALLENGE.  At the end of the hop Lisa will tell you what to do with these clues.

Now, on to my projects!  I have two things to show you today.  First, a birthday card.

I cut these pretty butterflies from the Paisley cartridge at 1.65 in, 1.40 in & 1.25 in.  I cut each one twice, once out of lavender glitter paper from DCWV and once out of the purple paper from Bazzill Basics. I scored the top layer to give some dimension to the wings.  I added some bling down the center of each one.  The white border strip is from Just Because Cards and my sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps.

To make my matching gift bag, I cut the box feature from Wrap it Up (the robot button), and used my Gypsy to overlay the same butterfly from the Paisley cartridge at 1.88 in.  I lined the box with paper from
K and Company to match the card.  Both of these projects were pretty simple to make but I think they turned out so pretty.

I have some BLOG CANDY...

Flaunt It Friday - Simply Charmed

Happy Friday everyone!  We have had a busy week and are so glad the weekend is here.  It's time for another Flaunt It Friday challenge and this week we are using the little fish from page 41 (shift) of the Simply Charmed handbook.

I have to be honest, I had a really hard time with this card.  I spent quite a while deciding what to do with this cut.  I finally decided on a tall card....I'm trying to break out of the A2 rut I'm in.  The striped paper is from MS.  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps - Amusing Animals.

The Desgin Team has some awesome project to show you and we can't wait to see what you do with this adorable little fish.  Click HERE to head on over to Flaunt It Fridays.

I know these aren't traditional baby colors but I just love this color combo.  This little baby looks so super cute in red!
I used Lacy Labels for the two mats....this turquoise pattern paper is from DCWV.  I cut the baby from the Sugar and Spice cartridge at 3-1/4"...this tiny heart paper is from a MS Valentine stack.
